The Breast Screen Van is Coming Back Soon!

We’re excited to announce that the Breast Screen van will be visiting us again shortly.

Thanks to the fantastic response we received last year, Breast Screen Queensland has increased its visiting days.

Booking an appointment is simple! You can either schedule online https://www.breastscreen.qld.gov.au/ or call 132050 to speak with one of their friendly team members.

Key Benefits of Breast Screening

**Early Detection:** A breast screen (mammogram) can identify very small cancers, often before any symptoms are noticeable or can be felt by you or your doctor. Early-stage breast cancer frequently presents without obvious symptoms.

**Improved Treatment Outcomes:** Detecting cancer at an early stage typically means more treatment options are available, leading to higher success rates and less invasive procedures.

**Reduced Risk of Death:** Regular breast screenings have been shown to lower the risk of dying from breast cancer. Since the inception of the Breast Screen Australia program, there has been a notable decrease in breast cancer-related deaths among women aged 50 to 74.

**Peace of Mind:** For approximately 95% of women, the results will be normal, offering reassurance and peace of mind.

**Free and Accessible Service:** Breast Screen Queensland provides this service free of charge to all eligible women aged 40 and over, and no doctor’s referral is necessary.
